Ecoklima - High Precision

Ecotechnics takes technology a step further: High Precision

Following years of investment in research in the field of climate control, Ecotechnics has developed a unique technology that has permitted the company to create a new range of machines with outstanding characteristics, thus becoming the first European manufacturer to meet the stringent U.S. type-approval standards (SAE J-2788).

What High Precisionmeans

The technology High Precisionis based on Ecotechnics’ accrued experience and in-house studies targeting compliance with the most recent, very demanding SAE J-2788 standards governing precision recovery and recharging of R134a refrigerant in A/C systems and recycled refrigerant purity.
These standards were developed to set stricter limits on the quantities of gas handled by recovery-recycling-recharging devices. The SAE J-2788 standards have been in force in the U.S. since 1 January 2008.
In Europe, Ecotachnics is the only producer currently implementing these directives.

Technology specifications High Precision(based on SAE J-2788 standards)

  • 1. Stations must recover 95% of the gas contained in the A/C systems (in the best of cases, commercially-available machines are currently capable of recovering a maximum of 75% to 80%).
Recovering 95% of the gas means:
    A. Increasing recovered gas quantity by up to 20% with respect to standard recovery stations not equipped with High Precision technology.
    B. Increasing profitability and productivity at every recovery/recharging session.
    C. Faster return on investment
  • 2. Stations must charge gas with a tolerance of 14 g (1/2 oz.). Our test results show that the tolerances of certain machines currently exceed 50 g.
    Better tolerance means:
    A. The latest A/C systems are more compact and use lesser quantities of refrigerant; respecting the A/C system manufacturers’ tolerances becomes crucial, since system efficiency is strictly correlated with precision charging of the correct quantity of refrigerant gas.
    B. Avoiding possible customer complaints based on charging erroneous quantities of refrigerant.

More important considerations

The price of 134a gas is continually rising, and for this reason the quantities of gas recovered and reintegrated into the A/C system take on greater importance. By introducing this novelty to the market, Ecotechnics is setting a new industry standard with which other manufacturers will have to comply. And we know that the great majority of stations currently available on the market will be able to respect the SAE levels only at the cost of significant technical modification.
